This dual degree offers students a complete education in Journalism and in Audiovisual Communication. These studies have been developed at Universidad Carlos III at a time in history when Journalism and Communication are omnipresent and hold a key place in the public sphere. Over the last years, the information society has become the knowledge society, assuming that if information is power, knowledge is freedom.

In this context, Journalism and Communication have become strategic economic sectors, with a strong, varied demand by society and the job market. This Double Degree offers, accordingly, an extensive, all-purpose education that provides students with command of all journalistic languages and all communicative media. The balanced combination of theory and practice in the teachings- the result of the sum of the profiles and competences to be acquired from two areas of knowledge that are already well-defined-, provides a rigorous knowledge of the classic and modern styles of creation and management forms that predominate in the communication industries: Journalism, Communication Offices, Cinema, Television, Radio and Internet. Additionally, they assure future Dual Degree graduates of a broad education, oriented towards performing basic activities in the different professions related to Journalism and Audiovisual Communication: writing, reporting, scriptwriting, production, graphic design, multimedia project conception and market research.
