Introduction
Bachelor's Degree in International Studies
International Studies aims at educating young professionals capable of comprehending and analyzing in depth a complex world in constant change. They will also provide students with the necessary practical skills and tools to inquire into and improve the world today and into the future. At the same time, it works at equipping them with abilities that are adaptable to changing environments and scenarios, as well as fostering self-dependence, critical thought and promoting analytical and communication skills. International Studies is taught exclusively in English.
The degree in International Studies clearly has a multidisciplinary character, very much in line with the philosophy which has inspired the more prestigious international degrees in International Studies. Among the central issues it examines we can distinguish: the processes of construing supranational institutions and the possibilities of global governance, the political economy of poverty and equality, the survival of the Welfare State, the loss of national sovereignty and the management of nationalisms, the causes and consequences of migratory flows, violent conflict and international terrorism, aging populations in advanced countries, democratization, corruption, the low institutional quality of new democracies, exploitation of raw materials, or the economic and political consequences of climate change.
