For the vast majority of people throughout the world, employment is, together with family, an essential part of their lives, essential when one does not have a job or when one wants to progress in the job one has; essential as an economic means of maintaining a lifestyle and also as a means of personal development.Aware of the huge importance of employment and labour relations in 21st century societies, the Universidad Carlos III of Madrid offers a degree which focuses on training professional leaders in employment. They will learn to understand the many factors which effect it before (e.g. the search for employment), during (e.g. the development of labour relations) and afterwards (e.g. social welfare of the unemployed).

The degree is essentially multidisciplinary and provides conceptual instruments, techniques and practice from a wide range of subjects (economics, corporate structure, law, sociology, psychology, etc), which will equip graduates for a professional career in vital areas of activity in all types of businesses, non-profit making organisations and the public sector.
