Business Management: International Business and Trade

Do you dream of an international business career?

Follow one of our English taught business programs.

During your training, you will develop a thorough insight into business economics, with a broad view of the various functions within an organisation. In this program, you choose between 2 options:

  • Major: International Business & Trade
  • Specialisation: Business for Events 

If you have already completed a business related bachelor's program, we can offer you a tailor-made abridged program.

Admission requirements

Language Conditions

English Language Conditions for all English-taught Degree programs

You can prove you are reasonably proficient at speaking and writing English (level B2, European Framework), if you:

  • Obtained a Flemish secondary education diploma or a Dutch VWO-diploma, MBO-4 diploma, HAVO + propedeuse
  • Passed the ITACE test level B2 (in Antwerp, Leuven, Brussels or Ghent).
  • Obtained the minimum score (e.g. 6 overall band score on the IELTS test or equivalent) on internationally recognised language tests such as Cambridge Assessment English, IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, SAT. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic IELTS Indicator and TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition are also accepted .
  • Obtained an English-language diploma in secondary or higher education from an institution of one of the following countries: United Kingdom, United States of America, New Zealand, Australia, Canada (except Quebec), Ireland, Caribbean islands & South Africa. This implies that applicants who did not obtain their GCE A Level certificates in Australia, English speaking Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom or the USA have to submit language test (cf. above) results.
  • Followed your previous education in a partner institution with which Thomas More has an agreement on language requirements.

Program content

After this one-year course you will think in business models, know more about the economic make up of different continents and will be able to analyse economic data with ease.

Semester 1

During the first semester you will gain more insight in a broad range of subjects related to international business including finance, management, economics, export, supply chain, ERP and so much more.

Semester 2

The focus in the second semester is largely on real live practice. You will first gain international experience during an internship abroad to complete the program with a thesis proving that you can carry out independent research in your own area of interest.

Scholarships & funding

Thomas More offers a non-monetary scholarship to international students. You can get a discount on the tuition fee via the merit-based scholarship or tuition fee waiver.

Career opportunities

After graduation the world will be at your feet. Both SME and multinational companies with international ambitions, are potential employers. With good training in international entrepreneurship some of our students even start their own company. Last year a Thomas More-alumnus won a prize for best start-up of the year.

Consultancy or advisory functions for companies linking investors to different cultures are also within your reach. A few examples of potential employers: Brussels airport, DB Schenker, DHL, Flanders Investment & Trade, CS&A, Chambers of Commerce or P&G.
