Program description

TAKA

Our pre-academic Hebrew program, otherwise known as TAKA, runs in collaboration with the Ministry of Absorption. It serves as the ideal program for those who wish to improve their academic and language skills needed to study at an Israeli academic institution.

The TAKA program is designed for students who hold a high school diploma or higher and wish to pursue a Bachelor's degree, a Master's degree, or a PhD in Hebrew at an Israeli college or university.

The program can also support those who wish to take high-level academic or professional development courses taught in Hebrew.

This intensive program focuses on three core components: Intensive Hebrew studies and English studies along with a selection of Hebrew specializations such as Academic Writing, Statistics, International Relations, Israeli Society, etc.. The students also receive preparation for the Yael Test for Hebrew proficiency and Amir Test for English proficiency required by higher academic institutions in Israel.

Admission requirements

TAKA is open to High School graduates, Bachelor degree graduates and students holding a Master's degree who wish to pursue their next degree in Hebrew and therefore should already have a foundation in Hebrew. Students who are Hebrew beginners will not be able to join the program and may benefit from TAU International’s Intensive Hebrew Ulpan.

Please note: The TAKA program does not fill the requirements of a Mechina.
