Focus on FinTech: Summer Internship Program

Summer Internship Program: Focus on FinTech

Join us for this brand new and exciting TAU Summer Internship Program focused on the dynamic and innovative field of FinTech – there is no better place to immerse yourself in this growing specialty than here in the Start Up Nation!

Financial Technology (FinTech) is all the buzz. It’s a combination of technology and innovation aiming to revolutionize traditional financial methods in the delivery of financial services. The use of smartphones for mobile banking, investing services, and cryptocurrency are examples of technologies aiming to make financial services more accessible to the general public. Financial technology companies and accelerators/hubs consist of both startups and established financial institutions and technology companies trying to replace or enhance the usage of financial services provided by existing financial companies.

One such FinTech hub, The Floor, is on the cutting edge of this and is located right here in Tel Aviv. Qualified TAU students have the unique opportunity to intern there full time this summer!

About The Floor

The Floor is an exclusive platform sourcing and developing exceptional technologies for tier-1 banks. We are a forward-thinking team with banking and technology expertise, headquartered in the heart of Israel’s thriving fintech industry, focused on building an ever-expanding portfolio of technologies designed to answer unsolved banking challenges. The Floor gives its banking partners a unique opportunity to benefit from and collaborate with key innovators in the financial and technology sectors.

How Does It Work?

Students accepted to the Summer Internship Program: Focus on FinTech will intern full time with The Floor.  Internship placements will be either as part of the Floor team or as part of the startups which are based at The Floor (we cannot guarantee which one). In addition, students who have Mandarin speaking skills may have the opportunity to work directly with The Floor’s branch in Hong Kong while being based in Tel Aviv.

While interning, students will also take a mandatory 3-credit professional workshop on the TAU campus specializing in career development, organizational behavior and cultural differences in the workplace.

Program Highlights

  • Benefit from Tel Aviv University’s academic excellence while having a unique and rare internship experience in FinTech while abroad.
  • Explore career opportunities in a global context within both the world of FinTech and in a Start Up environment
  • Participate in a career development workshop for academic credit.
  • Develop practical skills in the workplace and strengthen your CV/resume.
  • Network and make strong international connections with industry professionals.

Admission requirements

This program is open to undergraduates who have a grade point average of 80% (3.0/4.0 scale) and above. Students must have a Business, Economics, Finance and/or Computer Science background or focus. Students with Chinese (Mandarin) experience are also encouraged to apply; for Chinese (Mandarin) speaking students, The Floor can be a bit more flexible about the specific degree the student is studying. Students from other fields not mentioned here should consider applying for our general Summer Internship Program, whereby a specific internship is customized for the student in a variety of possible fields.
