Program description

The aim of Bachelor’s study programme of System Engineering and Informatics is to prepare students to master a broad professional agenda in the field of information technologies in combination with economic and managerial theories. This professionally oriented study program is designed to respond to current market needs in the area of ICT knowledge employees. Students get a basic overview of in the field of creating and managing information systems, programming, multimedia training, marketing and also knowledge from the area of management and business processes, enabling them to design and manage information structures with respect to the needs of individual departments of the organization.

This bachelor in system engineering and informatics program is a 3-year, joint degree program.The students stay at a total of three different sites during their studies: the Technical University of Liberec, Czech Republic, the Wrocław University of Technology, Poland, and the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz, Germany. The specific feature of the study course is its proven international as well as its interdisciplinary character reflected by the combination of computer science with business management and psychology from the angle of communication in an intercultural context. The curricular focus of study is on computer science (50 %). One of the primary goals is the training of specialists for an international assignment in the field of business communication.

Four pillars make up the contents of the Bachelor's programme:
     Information Technology
     Business Studies
     Communication Psychology
     Languages and Intercultural Education

Admission requirements

Applicants interested in applying to the system engineering and informatics program should meet the following requirements:

  • Recognized secondary education as prescribed by Act No. 49/2009, Coll. (not necessary for applicants from Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Germany and Slovenia)
  • English on B2 level
  • Skype interview will be announced to students who have applied online and settled the application fee.
