Founded in 1920 and just three hours from London by train, Swansea University is an established university with a long history of academic success, excellent facilities and high standards of teaching.
When students choose to study at Swansea University, they become part of an ambitious, research-led institution and also benefit from living in the one of the UK's most naturally beautiful regions - the beach is a short distance from both campuses and the city of Swansea is nestled on the edge of the Gower Peninsular.
Swansea University is ranked in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide Top 30 in 2019– a testament to the continuous investment in facilities and improvement in the delivery of teaching.
The University was also ranked in the UK Top 10 for Student Satisfaction in the National Student Satisfaction survey (2019) and UK Top 5 for Graduate Prospects (Guardian University League Table 2020).
The University is in the UK Top 10 as the most affordable UK University Town (totallymoney.com 2019) and one of the safest cities in the UK (Complete University Guide 2020).
Whether you’re a sports fanatic, culture vulture or outdoor adventurer, you’ll find plenty to keep you busy between lectures. Think 130 societies, over 50 sports clubs and 12 months of must-see events. Whether you want to get into media, pick up a new hobby or have your voice heard on something that matters to you, there’s a way for everyone to join in.
Swansea University spans two stunning campuses at each end of Swansea’s waterfront. Singleton Park Campus is set in mature parkland and botanical gardens, overlooking Swansea Bay beach. Bay Campus is located on the beach on the eastern approach into Swansea.
Our multicultural dual-campus provides lots of opportunities for students, staff and the community and the friendly and relaxed atmosphere is often characterized as the “Swansea experience”.
Swansea is surrounded by a variety of beaches and the city centre is a short journey which is accessible by bus, walking or cycling. Swansea has plenty of charm and lots of character with a number of art galleries, museums, shops and restaurants. The University has collaborated with Santander Cycles providing sustainable travel across the city, with 55 bikes based at six hubs along the sweep of Swansea Bay available to hire 24/7.
Swansea University benefits from having a range of accommodation open to students - from on-campus living to a wide variety of private accommodation in and around the city. It has been rated as one of the most affordable UK University by totallymoney.com (2019). New international students are guaranteed a space in University accommodation as long as you have made an application to our Residential Services team by the 30th June. For those looking to live on campus, there are rooms with en-suites available as well as the option to live in single-sex halls or those dedicate for Postgraduate students.
