Study Tourism Management at NHL Stenden

Tourism is due to become and remain one of the world’s most important economic forces thus meaning that NHL Stenden’s Bachelor in Tourism Management has great relevance today. Keuzegids Hogeronderwijs 2016 has stated that NHL Stenden’s Tourism Management course is the number one Tourism Management Programme in The Netherlands. The course provides students with an in-depth understanding of tourism management on an international scale.

Within the four-year course, students will have practical projects that will enable them not only to discover how to create tourism products but also how to market tourism products. Furthermore, students will learn about sustainability within the tourism sector. During the third year, students will develop their research skills as well as have the opportunity to specialise in a certain tourist area such as:

  • Heritage Management (The Netherlands)
  • Outdoor Leadership and Adventure (The Netherlands)
  • Tourism Geography and Planning (The Netherlands)
  • International Destination Branding (Qatar)
  • Community-Based Tourism (Thailand)

The final year of the course enables students to gain real-life experience by completing a 7-month internship and finally writing a dissertation.

Upon completion of the Tourism Management course, graduates can work in many areas of the tourism sector such as travel agencies, tour operators and within the government sector. Many graduates go on to gain their Master’s degree in International Leisure and Tourism Studies which is also offered by NHL Stenden.

The tourism program prepares you very good for your future worklife. Through different practical assignments such as creating fieldtrips for others, designing a tourism handbook combined with the theory we get to know in class we learn a lot more than we would do with just studying theory by hard.

This "University" is very unorganized and staff mostly underqualified and uninterested in progress of students. The interest of this education institute primary lies in gaining finacial profits.
