Shinjuku Japanese Language Institute

The Shinjuku Japanese Language Institute was founded in 1975 and is accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Education and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. It is ideally located in the student district of Takadanobaba, just a five-minute walk from the train station.

The school applies distinctive educational methods that emphasize the auditory aspects of the language. Its system is dynamic: flexible and practical. In the early stages, teachers put emphasis on communicative abilities and don’t shield students from the real language, as the school believes that using romaji and children’s Japanese only hinders students in the end.

The institute’s curriculum is based on the Ezoe method, a Japanese - grammar-based - system, that ensures students are able to attain long-term proficiency. Shinjuku Japanese Language Institute uses exclusive digital tools, particularly the VLJ (Visual Learning Japanese) including apps and an online learning site, allowing students to study before and after the class in order to take more time to exchange and ask questions to their teachers.

Shinjuku Japanese Language Institute helps all students to identify and to reach their academic or professional goals in Japan, while they are learning the language. Counselors are available to support students with their resumes and cover letters as well as to actively search for and apply to universities, vocational schools, and job offers, once they have reached the necessary level of Japanese. The school has a network of partner schools and universities, that students are able to join with a recommendation from the school.

The school’s long experience in teaching the language, its original method and digital tools, a support and orientation office as well as an ideal location in the heart of Tokyo, makes it the perfect place to start a life in Japan.
