English for Academic Purpose

Develop your English language skills and prepare for your studies and life in Canada with these courses.

You’re automatically considered for English for Academic Purposes (EAP) when you apply for a Sask Polytech post-secondary program if your score is less than 6.5 on the IELTS test (or equivalent). This opportunity is exclusively for you as an international student who is applying for a First Qualified First Admitted (FQFA) Sask Polytech post-secondary program. You must meet all the admission requirements except for the English Language Requirement.

Admission requirements

English is the language of instruction and examination at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. If your first or primary language is not English and/or your country is not exempt, you will need to provide evidence of your English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. These skills are required to be successful in a Saskatchewan Polytechnic program.

Saskatchewan students graduating from Fransaskois and French Immersion high school programs are not required to meet further English Language Proficiency requirements.

Scholarships & funding

As an international student, you are eligible for academic merit scholarships and awards that do not include financial need as a selection criteria.  Ensure you meet all selection and eligibility criteria requirements for the awards you are applying for, otherwise your application may be disqualified.


EAP courses (Advanced): $4,500 per course (EAP 1 and 2)

Pre-EAP courses: $3,765 per course (CW L 1 – 4)


This course is designed to demonstrate and build English competency for those who do not meet IELTS levels to begin education at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Completion of this course will provide you with the necessary language learning certification to complete your studies.

Continuing studies

This course grants the English language requirements for furthering your studies at our university.
