International Year One Program SF State
San Francisco State (SF State) University International Year One Program is located in the city of San Francisco across two campuses. The main campus is just east of Lake Merced, a quiet and picturesque area of the city with acres of parkland for relaxation. SF State Downtown Campus is located in the heart of downtown San Francisco, just minutes from the Embarcadero, Salesforce Tower and financial district.
There are many reasons why SF State is a destination of choice for students. To name a few; it has great ethnic and cultural diversity, it's ranked as Top 20 College nationwide for best location (niche.com). With 21 Pulitzer Prizes, 49 Emmy and 16 Oscar winners and NASA astronauts among our alumni, our students know that with hard work, success can be theirs too.
International Year One offers a mix of credit-bearing SF State courses and non-credit courses designed to boost your English language study skills.
The combination of courses you take depends on your level of English language skills at the outset:
- International Year One for 3 terms
- International Year One for 2 terms
Once International Year One is completed, students can apply directly to their second year of degree study at SF State.
