MME-CAME caters to this demand in providing an industrial engineering program that will give you the choice and the flexibility to work at the interface of technology and economics.
As an interdisciplinary industrial engineering program, it comprises lectures, exercises and practical courses in mechanical engineering along with management training. The last semester constitutes the master thesis, which can be written either at RWTH or a Company.
The mechanical engineering part focuses on the development and application of computer-aided methods and systems at all stages of product development. It provides in-depth knowledge and understanding of finite element methods, numerical methods, simulation, mechanics, software engineering, and production management.
During the management training, students are trained to solve problems related to global transformation and sustainable competitiveness, organization development, and international project management. The RWTH School of Business and Economics contributes management modules.
Graduates of this master's degree program will have gained the skill set and competences to work at the interface of technology and business administration. In today's industrial world, they will build the bridge between management goals and operational performance. For graduates looking into a future in academia, the M.Sc. MME-CAME also qualifies for PhD studies and a further career path at universities.
Industrial engineers are employed in a wide range of fields: whether in traditional manufacturing companies or in consulting firms, in financial institutions or in the food industry, in logistics companies or health care establishments – their flexibility enables industrial engineers to choose from a large variety of different professional areas to work in.

Applicants wishing to enter the M.Sc. Management and Engineering in Computer Aided Mechanical Engineering should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, such as Automotive, Aerospace or Energy Engineering, Manufacturing, Structural, Industrial or Production Engineering, awarded by an internationally recognized university-level institution
- Very good performance in your undergraduate studies
- Fundamental knowledge in the following subjects: mechanics, materials science, thermodynamics, machine design, informatics, mathematics, physics. Furthermore in: fluid mechanics, automatic control, finite elements, modelling, theory of vibrations, manufacturing engineering, CAD
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Letter of Intent
- University Transcript of Records (if possible with a conversion of your credit points in ECTS)
- University Degree Certificate
- Proof of English Language Proficiency (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL)
- GRE (145 | 160 | 3 - applicants from EU, EWG and Bildungsinländer are exempt)
- Two Letters of Recommendation
- Digital Photograph
- Proof of practical work experience, at least 6 months by 1 March (detailing the duration and responsibilities of your work)
- APS (only for Chinese Applicants)
