Master of Public Administration in European Studies

You want to understand European policy and its economical and societal impact on global topics?
European Union policy strongly influences a wide range of topics. This interdisciplinary Master’s programme focuses on energy, transport, climate and the digital economy from a political as well as technological point of view. It combines the excellence of RWTH Aachen University in science and technology with the current political and economic agenda of the EU to provide a comprehensive understanding of the impact of new technologies on EU governance and vice versa. The result is a highly attractive programme: the Master of Public Administration in European Studies. Study it in Aachen and qualify for leadership positions in the private or public sector.

Admission requirements

University degree certificate and transcript of records:

First academic degree in e.g. Humanities, Economics, Law, Engineering, Natural or Social Sciences. The programme is open to all disciplines.

Please provide a copy of your degree certificate and your transcript of records of your Bachelor’s degree, if possible indicating the number of ECTS credits awarded. Furthermore, if your documents were not issued in English or German, you need to submit a certified translation. Please note that you can apply before you have received your final degree certificate. You will need to present it as part of the formal enrolment process, however.

Professional work experience:

Professional work experience of at least 12 months. The proof of work experience must be handed in on the registration day of your master thesis and must include the following details:

Complete address and contact details of the company
Name of responsible supervisor
Date of joining and, if applicable, resignation date,
Weekly hours
Job position
Short description of tasks and responsibilities

Certified proofs of English language competence

The program is taught in English. Thus, recognized certificates of proficiency in English are required.

We accept the following English language certificates:

Internet-based TOEFL with a minimum of 90 pts
IELTS test with a minimum overall band, 5 pts.
Cambridge Test – Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
First Certificate in English (FCE), completed with a B
Placement-Test of RWTH Aachen University's language centre (B2)

The interdisciplinary, forward-looking nature of the European Studies Master’s programme addresses the need for graduates who are able to work at the interface of politics and technology thus needing a profound knowledge of both.
