Program content

Year 1

Students will build skills in communication and representation, construction and dual use environment.

Alongside this, they will begin to think about their own design and angles on problems of the built environment.

We encourage students to start thinking about their contextual studies research.

Year 2

Students will gain greater understanding of urban history and theory, urban design, and design for commercial and retail environments, as well as rehabilitation.

This will allow them to enhance their practice and develop their approach to their design work.

We set briefs that encourage students to collaborate with others and create work as part of a design team.

Year 3

Students will bring their learning together in a final negotiated major project, where they will investigate and make architectural design decisions.

Alongside this, they will carry out a negotiated project in the form of a live brief.

We ask students to show their contextual studies research and thinking in a long form dissertation.

Students will leave with a portfolio that shows their skills in areas in entry-level architecture.
