The graduate diploma program includes one year of academic study. Ideal for students wanting to progress into the hotel industry in a short period of time, or for students with non-hospitality background wishing to transition into the hospitality industry. This course would also suit current hospitality professions looking to progress into higher management positions by gaining formal qualification in the hospitality industry. This course will provide graduate diploma students key business, hospitality skills and knowledge while being immersed in the PIHMS hotel environment. Graduate Diploma Dux will be awarded to the Graduate Diploma student who has achieved an average of 80% or higher for all subjects over the entire programme and is the top student in the cohort.
Education Pathways
Students who have successfully completed the Graduate Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management may seek admission to postgraduate programmes in New Zealand or overseas, including the PIHMS Postgraduate Diploma in Hotel Management and the PIHMS Master of Hotel Management.
Opportunity for employment
To be eligible for the PIHMS Industry Placement program with paid employment, students will need to take additional 10 week operations module, either in food and beverage operations or rooms divisions operation.
