About this program
History of Art
The Degree in Art History aims to develop studies around artistic objects and the discourse that has been built on them since the foundation of this scientific area.
Covering the various historical periods, from Antiquity to the Contemporary Period, and both Portuguese and international art, its curricular units also cover theoretical subjects such as the Theory and Methodology of Art History or Aesthetics and Theories of Art, and topics transversal, from a chronological point of view, such as Iconography and the Introduction to Museology.
It is intended, therefore, to provide a comprehensive training, enabling a critical discourse and supported by a knowledge of the discipline's own identity.
