Joint Honours degrees offer you the maximum flexibility to study subject areas that genuinely interest you. You’ll be able to shape your study according to your strengths, interests and career ambitions. SPANISH at NTU will enable you to develop rapid language skills within the written and spoken language of Spanish and you'll explore contemporary Spanish and Latin American culture, society and politics. NTU’s Spanish courses are in the UK’s Top 20 for student satisfaction (NSS 2017). MEDIA is a popular course which enables you to design your perfect degree by offering a mixture of theoretical and practical modules that consider approaches to the media. This media degree is in the UK's Top 25 for student satisfaction (NSS 2017). Spanish at NTU can be studied as a beginner course or as a post A-level (you will need A-level Spanish to study this level). The course has been designed to offer you a rapid progress in the Spanish language and an in-depth knowledge of the cultures and societies in which it is spoken in. You'll explore contemporary Spanish and Latin American cultures, politics and society. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the countries culture as well as develop a high level of language proficiency. In Year Three you will have the opportunity to spend time working or studying in Spain or South America at one of our partner universities. Our Spanish course will enhance your reading and listening skills as you'll be taught using the latest language-teaching methodologies and CALL technologies and be given access to our fantastic language resource centres. This popular and diverse course combines a mixture of theoretical and practical approaches to give a broad understanding of the industry. You'll learn from industry professionals and from academics who are creating the latest cutting edge research from the field. You'll examine a range of texts and aspects of media including; lifestyle magazines, social networking sites, advertising, public relations, gaming and journalism. You'll recognise the important role which the media plays in our lives and combined with our Spanish course, it will give your degree an international flare which will support you when looking for employment. This course will help you to acquire independence, self-motivation and excellent critical analysis skills which will help you both in your professional and personal life. Language graduates are in high demand for a variety of roles. Our graduates continue to be recruited by firms based in Spain or Latin America within industry, media and the education sectors. Media will provide you with a solid understanding of both theoretical and approaches to understanding the media and the course will enhance your understanding of the different ways in which we communicate in various societies. 95% of our media joint honours undergraduates are in work or further study within just six months of finishing their degree (DLHE 2015-16). Recent NTU undergraduates have followed exciting career options including; the United Nations, UK government departments, international charities, radio, journalism and advertising.
