This diverse degree introduces you to Chinese culture and society as well as giving you a well-rounded background into the major controversies that surround international politics. This course has been designed to give you a wide flexibility to shape your study to your strengths, interests and career ambitions. INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS at NTU explores the changing world in which we live in. It will provide you with an understanding of the changing world in which we live in, in regards to; people, social movements and religious communities. You'll be able to develop a greater understanding of the complexity and contentedness of the processes that shape our worlds. The course allows you to focus on the big issues which control contemporary international politics such as; war, various forms of conflict, terrorism and the media's role. MANDARIN ( CHINESE) at NTU ensures that you learn the language at a quick speed whilst developing an in-depth knowledge of the societies and cultures in which its spoken. In Year Three you'll be given the opportunity to study in China or to spend time working and to have the opportunity to apply your mandarin and international relations knowledge and skills practically. You'll learn through the use of many lively learning options, including modules exploring contemporary Chinese culture, politics and society. To enhance your career prospects, you're able to take a final year module which will develop your translation and interpreting skills. 90% of our Chinese joint honours undergraduates are in work or further study within just six months of finishing their degree (DLHE 2015-16).

You'll develop a broad understanding of Chinese culture, society, history and political background. You'll develop your reading comprehension and important listening skills. This course will equip you with vital employability skills such as, how to make informed choices on a variety of levels and will help with careers such as translation and interpreting. International Relations will provide you with a clear understanding of important issues within international politics. You'll be taught how to make informed decisions and how these then have an effect at local, national and international levels, which you'll be able to transfer into the world of work.
