Program description

BS Mechanical Engineering

North Park’s strong liberal arts tradition reinforces communication, ethical reasoning, and idea synthesizing—skills required of engineers. Often overlooked at purely technical schools, mechanical engineers who also have these soft skills are more prepared to fill a crucial gap in the labor market and will be better prepared to enter the workforce immediately upon graduation.

As an urban university rooted in faith, students pursue their learning in a world-class city with internships at leading engineering firms, all with a sense of purpose.

Admission requirements

At minimum, all prospective students are recommended to meet these admission standards for grade point average (GPA) and standardized test scores:

  • Cumulative high school GPA: 2.75 (unweighted)
  • Cumulative college GPA (transfer students): 2.5 (based on 12 or more transferable credits)
  • SAT/ACT is optional
  • TOEFL 80, IELTS 6.0, or Duolingo 105

First-year students who do not meet the minimum requirements above may need to provide additional information such as an interview and/or be considered for provisional admission.
