Program description

Always wanted to be that marketing guru but not sure of how to achieve the goal? Perhaps you are already in a marketing role and you want to confirm and build on your expertise, so you can take that next step. This qualification will help you achieve that goal and rise to the challenge, confident in the knowledge that you have the base skills to perform!

This programme is delivered via online study through TANZ eCampus.

Who is this for?

Graduates of the Marketing and Sales qualification will have the skill to work in an entry level role within a sales and marketing team. You will gain the confidence and knowledge to take on the role of marketing assistant, junior account manager or sales representative. The qualification will provide a great first step on that career ladder.

Courses

To complete the New Zealand Diploma in Business (Marketing and Sales) (Level 5) the following courses are available. There are four core courses that we recommend that you study first. These are: Understanding Change, Business Functions, Business Environments, and Organisations in a New Zealand Context. How long will it take?

All our qualifications have flexible start dates with courses available to start at regular times throughout the year.

This qualification is made up of eight courses. Each course is delivered over 9 weeks. NZQA guidelines suggest up to 150 hours of total study time for a 15 credit course. So to complete one of the courses successfully in the 9 weeks you must be prepared to devote approximately 16.5 hours per week to your study. Depending on your previous academic online experience and course level this may vary to a certain degree.

Career and study pathways

On completion of this qualification you will have the skills and knowledge to take on entry level sales and marketing role such as marketing assistant, junior account manager, sales representative or digital marketing assistant.

Admission requirements

Academic Requirements

Students are required to complete international qualifications equivalent to New Zealand NCEA Level 1 or 2 qualification. Entry requirements vary from country to country.

Equivalent relevant business experience

English Language Requirements

IELTS 6.0 Academic (no lower than 5.5 in any subtest)

TOEFL Paper based test (pBT) - Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE)

TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) - Score of 60 (with a writing score of 20)

University of Cambridge English Examinations - FCE, or FCE for schools, or CAE, or CPE with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill

Pearson Test of English (Academic): PToE (Academic) score of 50

City & Guilds IESOL - B2 Communicator with a score of 66
