International Year One in Accounting and Finance
The International Year One allows you to study the first year of an undergraduate degree at an NCUK Study Centre, locally or in the UK, and progress directly into Year 2 of a degree at university. The International Year One is a credit-bearing qualification equivalent to the first year of a university undergraduate degree and is trusted by universities worldwide.
Program content
The International Year One has five subject routes to choose from with progression options to 300+ degree courses across 26 leading universities in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.
The International Year One in Accounting & Finance is a first-year undergraduate equivalent programme that builds students’ knowledge and skills in the Business field. You will also study our integrated English for Academic Purposes module which is accepted in lieu of IELTS and will help you improve your English language skills.
Scholarships & funding
There are three categories that students can apply for with different criteria necessary for students to address in order to submit their application:
- NCUK Values Award – Students who are interested in applying for the NCUK Values Award will need to evidence skills that they have developed during their NCUK qualification (such as teamwork, independent critical thinking, selflessness, communication etc), as well as any extra-curricular activities, and how they are going to apply these skills when transferring to university.
- NCUK Future Leaders Award – Students who are interested in applying for the NCUK Future Leaders Award will need to evidence their leadership skills and/or how they plan to utilise their degree for positive change in the future.
- NCUK Inspire Award – Students who are interested in applying for the NCUK Inspire Award will need to evidence what studying abroad means to them and how studying with NCUK has helped them in their study abroad journey.
Six NCUK Scholarships will be available (two winners per category) with each winner being awarded £1,000.

Where can I study the International Year One?
Designed exclusively for international students, the International Year One will give you the confidence to study at an international university by equipping you with the English language and academic study skills needed to be successful at university. As the International Year One is delivered by our Global Network of Study Centres, you can choose to start your university degree locally in your home country (or nearby), or at one of our Study Centres in the UK.
Continuing studies
By completing the International Year One in Accounting & Finance you will be able to gain guaranteed entry onto a range of 20+ NCUK Universities across the UK, Australia and New Zealand where you will have over 100+ degree courses to choose from, including popular options such as Economics, Accounting, Marketing, Commercial Marketing and many more!
