NABA - Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti is an Italian training Academy of Fine Arts and Design, situated in Milano and formed in 1980 by a group of re-known artists.

NABA is legally recognized by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MIUR) and issues BA and MA degrees in the areas of Painting and Visual Arts (Photography and Videoart), Design (Industrial, Interior), Fashion Design, Graphic Design and Art Direction, Media Design and Multimedia Arts, Theatre Design and Digital Production.

The philosophy of NABA is based on that their educations integrate the traditional disciplines of visual representation, the contemporary digital practices as well as the critical project culture of Italian design. NABA - Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti’s training philosophy is based on the project-applied Art, synthesis of creative sensitivity, critical-methodological knowledge and technical-manual know-how.

The different programs at NABA are characterized by an interdisciplinary methodology aimed at the development of artistic-professional competencies and profiles. This approach is the result of a constant experimentation, of a strong vocation to research and to the relation with the artistic and productive context as well as of an attention paid to the ethic dimension of training. NABA’s new campus, sited in the historical area of Navigli, was inaugurated in June 2005.

NABA - Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti is an international institution, which integrates students of 45 different nationalities in its educational programs and promotes intensive educational exchanges with Art and Design universities in Europe, USA, Latin America and Asia. NABA collaborates with prestigious institutions such as Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (London), Philadelphia University, Pratt Institute and Rhode Island School of Design.

Buddy project

The Buddy Project is a service that NABA dedicates to international students in their first year as well as to exchange students in all years at the Academy.

The aim of the project is to create a network of relationships for incoming students, making it easier for them to integrate. This project is also an opportunity to get to know the experiences of other students and to establish relationships with Italian students and students from all over the world.


  • Campus Milan: 

    NABA Campus in Milan is located near the Navigli area, one of the liveliest areas of the city, and it is inserted in a historical architectural complex consisting of 13 buildings spread over approximately 17,000 sqm including study and lounge areas dedicated to students, specialised laboratories, a library, a green area, and a cafeteria.

  • Campus Rome: 

    The new NABA Campus in Rome occupies two historical buildings of early 20th century located in the Ostiense district, a former industrial area between the railway station and the Tiber, where today the artistic and cultural heritage meets contemporary culture, becoming one of the most creative and young place in the city.


NABA supports its students in finding accommodation in private apartments and/or managed by selected providers.
