Program description

The PhD in Political Science at Masaryk University in the Czech Republic is geared toward preparing qualified experts in the field of political science. The study is designated for graduates of Master's programmes in political science. This education is focused particularly on analysis of contemporary political systems, comparative analysis and typologies of political parties and organised interests, research of recent developmental trends in political theory, study of political extremism and analysis of political conflicts.

Doctoral study of Political Science aims at providing future specialists with theoretical – methodological background corresponding with the latest trends of the evolution of political science and allowing those specialists to work in the following fields:

  • political science research
  • analytical and expert work

The PhD in Political Science is focused on elaboration of ability of desirable self-reflection and application of knowledge by the graduates. This focus should contribute to spreading and cultivation of political science research in the Czech environment.
