Montessori Early Childhood Practice BA (Hons)

Our Montessori Early Childhood Practice BA (Hons) is delivered in partnership with Montessori International, which is a leading provider of early years and Montessori training.

You’ll study at the Montessori Centre International located in St John’s Wood and be taught by Montessori specialists to use their teaching materials, study child development and explore contemporary early childhood practice in accordance with the Montessori philosophy and practice. Each year of the program also offers a work placement, during which you’ll learn how theory and practice come together on a professional placement.

Admission requirements

In addition to the University's standard entry requirements, you should have:

  • a minimum of 112 UCAS points in three A-levels (or equivalent from an equivalent Level 3 qualification, eg Advanced Diploma)
  • English Language and Mathematics GCSE at grade C/grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
  • two references
  • an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check

  • Leading Practice in a Montessori Setting
  • Montessori Early Childhood Practice Project
  • Reading Research and Research Methods in Early Childhood
  • Debating Montessori Provision: Birth to Three

Continuing studies

Following your bachelor’s degree you may choose to progress on to postgraduate study, gaining Early Years Teacher Status, a PGCE or Master’s degree.
