Why study this course?

We teach our Media and Entertainment LLM in partnership with online learning provider Informa, meaning you can study from your home location.

Our course is ideal if you want to enhance and improve your legal career in the media and entertainment fields. Or maybe you have no prior legal training, but want to start a career in this field. If so, you’ll be supported by our introductory module to English law. This will allow you to continue confidently onto the rest of the course.

You’ll expand your academic knowledge of issues in media and entertainment law, increase your legal understanding of activities that can take place these fields and learn how to resolve the different legal issues that may arise.

By signing up to the course, you’re preparing yourself to take advantage of the growing number of professional legal roles in the media sector. These include roles in media and entertainment contracts, sports law, intellectual property rights, advertising law and data protection.

Our internationally recognised LLM course is designed to help you become an expert in media and entertainment law.

The course content covers intellectual property, contracts and defamation related to media. You’ll also take social media, advertising, music and sports law into account.

Course outline
Our course gives you a complete understanding of how the media and entertainment world is adapting to changes in the law. This includes changes affecting print media regulation and the ever-increasing challenges companies face over their misuse of social media.

You’ll also learn other modern related issues such as the increase in cybercrime and more specific developments like WikiLeaks. You’ll investigate these as an example of how the law is keeping up with technological advancements in media and entertainment.

You’ll progress logically through the syllabus we give you, discuss the theoretical issues and take part in problem solving exercises.
