Master of Forensic Odontology

Forensic odontology entails three major aspects: human identification, dental age estimation and bite mark analysis. The Master Of Forensic Odontology is one of the few programmes of its kind in the world that allows students to gain knowledge and practical skills in this field and develops a scientific foundation on which you can rely in your future career. 

The MSc in Forensic Odontology stresses interaction and cross fertilization with forensic medicine, judicial bodies, and insurance companies, to train dentists and oral physicians to the highest degree in this fascinating discipline and its legal aspects. 


The full-time Master of Forensic Odontology (Leuven) programme offers candidates holding of a degree in dentistry the opportunity to go on and specialise.

With its theoretical courses, self-study, clinical demonstrations, laboratory work, and a research-based thesis, the programme provides the ideal stepping stone within this exciting new profession.

The master’s programme can serve as a valuable preparation year when aspiring to go on to doctoral studies.  

This master’s programme will empower the student with a variety of skills and tools to respond to the rising demand for forensic dental experts.  


  • Graduates will be expertly prepared to assist in the identification of victims or suspected criminals based on forensic evidence in high profile criminal cases.
  • Graduates will be ready to work with synergy in a team, undertake solid research and deliver meaningful results based on their findings.

Tuition fees
