About this program

Master of Bioinformatics

During this program you will learn how to formulate biologically relevant questions, how to design the correct solution and implement it by managing and analysing biological and sequencing data, and how to interpret the obtained results. Bioinformatics is essential to modern molecular biology and biotechnology.

Modern biology is characterized by the generation of large amounts of data. This includes genomic sequencing of patients, but also of plants, bacteria and viruses. Moreover, the technologies to generate such data are constantly evolving. During this training you will learn as a bioinformatician to formulate biologically relevant questions, to design and implement the right solution by managing and analyzing molecular biological and sequence data, and to interpret the results obtained. Bioinformatics is thus essential for modern molecular biology and biotechnology.

The program is aimed at students with a background in computer science or statistics who want to apply their knowledge to complex biological questions and to students in biochemistry or molecular biology who want to master data analysis, computer programming and machine learning . Top-level bioinformatics scientists train students through both theoretical lectures and hands-on computer training.
