Program description

At Keele University, we’re different. Nestled in 600 acres of countryside in the heart of the UK, we have a big campus but a small and cosmopolitan community. We proudly rank 1st for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey for the last three years. This is because it’s more than green and lovely, it’s a place of research and academic excellence too.

The Business Management and Finance course is perfect for those who
are looking to study a range of business disciplines to better understand
the contemporary world of business and financial management. Focusing on the essential components of business, management and
finance, this course also engages crucial elements of economics,
organisational behaviour and strategy, which will prepare you for a
career at the very top of the organisation.
On this course, you will learn to apply practical techniques for real
world problem solving using industry standard software to present and
analyse business data. You’ll also learn about investor decision making
and the roles of the markets, exploring concepts such as moral hazard,
adverse selection, information asymmetry, arbitrage, optimal risk
sharing and informational efficiency. You’ll become confident using data
to understand, interpret and manage financial situations in a range of
private and public sector contexts, skills you may put into practice on
a placement year or in your future career.

Keele enjoys high rates of graduate employment, where in 2016, were recognised nationally as 1st for employability in the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey. Your Business Management and Finance degree from Keele will prepare
you for a wide choice of careers. You might choose to work in a field
directly related to finance or to work as a management consultant or
follow a career in sales or marketing. You could also use your newly
acquired transferable skills to do something different such as working
in insurance, IT, journalism, statistics or the Civil Service.
This degree will also equip you to undertake postgraduate studies in
Finance or Management.
