About this program


In our lives, perpetually changing and getting more and more complex, because of technological advancements, psychology and its areas of application have gained considerable importance. The main objective of our psychology department is to help students acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the area of psychology that are contemporary and robust To this end, our faculty consists of academicians who are graduates of the highest ranking universities in Turkey, Europe and the US, are experts in various areas of psychology and have extensively published both nationally and internationally.

We aim that our students will be individuals who:

  • Grasp the relationship of different areas of psychology with other disciplines,
  • Understand and question cognitive and emotional processes in psychology,
  • Can investigate personal  psychological problems,
  • Generate innovative ideas to ameliorate existing psychological practices,
  • Are research-oriented,
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines,
  • Can assume individual responsibility,
  • Are productive,
  • Can communicate effectively,
  • Appreciate cultural and individual differences,

Moreover, we aim that, at the end of four-year psychology training, our graduates will have a distinctive place among other psychology graduates because of their application skills that they acquired throughout our program

Admission requirements

Applicants should obtain the required scores from Transition to Higher Education Examination (YGS), First Cycle Placement Test (LYS/TM 3), and Direct Transfer Test (DGS). Placements are centrally organized by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). International students applying for the program must follow the admissions criteria determined by Kadir Has University. Students can transfer into the program by following Kadir Has University regulations on the basis concerning horizontal transfer.

Program outcomes

  1. Be able to define, explain and interpret theoretical knowledge in five major areas of psychology
  2. Be able to apply theoretical knowledge of psychology in a variety of applied settings
  3. Be able to identify and explain human behavioral, emotional and cognitive processes
  4. Be able to critically evaluate empirical evidence and claims utilizing scientific criteria
  5. Be able to collect empirical evidence using sound scientific methods and report the findings in a manner that is valid and usable.
  6. Be able to develop and utilize measurement tools for psychological phenomena.
  7. Have the skills and abilities to follow advances in psychology and other related sciences.
  8. Have the skills, knowledge and experience to work effectively on project groups individually or collectively.
  9. Be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner using visual, verbal and written tools in national and international settings.
  10. Know the professional code of ethics that applies to psychology and the ethical decision making processes.
  11. Have an enhanced awareness of social, cultural and individual differences and know how to operate in diverse settings.
  12. Have enhanced awareness of universal values as well as human and animal rights.
