Program description
Studying Diversity in Lisbon: Contemporary Societies and Cultures (in English only)
To think about our contemporary world through anthropological lenses will capacitate students to understand the world from its different perspectives, backgrounds, and life experiences.
This is not only a challenging learning opportunity but also a transformative experience, as it will foster in students a more open-minded approach to the world. Likewise, students will have the opportunity to learn about other parts of our common world that would otherwise be inaccessible.
Learning Anthropology means making the strange familiar and the familiar strange. From “Exploring Portuguese culture” to broad topics on social issues of contemporary society, this course aims at preparing students to being able to understand, interpret, and explain to the wider society how human diversity is articulated in the contemporary world.
