Earn an AP-degree in Marketing Management

The AP-degree in Marketing Management focuses on marketing, communication, organisation and economics.

Combining theory and practice in a dynamic way, the Marketing Management course offers students three elective pathways:

  • International
  • Management
  • Tourism and Events Management

Each pathway consists of consists elective subjects, an internship, and following compulsory subjects:

  • International Marketing and Sales
  • Economics
  • Communication, Organisation and Management
  • Business Law

Upon completion of the AP-degree in Marketing Management, graduates will have gained the knowledge and skills required in order to pursue careers as marketing managers, product managers, sales managers, consultants, export managers or store managers.

Marketing Management graduates can also choose to pursue a BA-degree in International Sales and Marketing Management.

Admission requirements

The admission requirements for the AP-degree in Marketing Management course varies depending on if you are a EU-student or from another part of the worldApplicants with an educational background from Denmark and Scandinavia:

  • A general upper secondary education in Denmark/Scandinavia (Upper Secondary School Leaving Examination, Higher Commercial Examination, Higher Technical Examination or Higher Preparatory Examination).
  • A Danish vocational education supplemented with English level B and with Mathematics level B or Business Economics level.

United States and countries with a similar educational system:

  • High school diplomas from the United States followed by at least 1 year of university or college studies in relevant subjects. This also applies to applicants with a high school diploma from countries with a similar system.
  • English and Mathematics see below (*).

UK countries and countries with a similar educational system:

  • GCE Advanced Level-exams (A-level) in combination with GCSE-exams (O-level). At least 3 A levels in relevant subjects in combination with O-level exams.
  • English and Mathematics see below (*).

African countries, Bangladesh, India, China, Pakistan, Phillipines and countries with a similar educational system:

  • At least 2 years of study in relevant subjects from universities. We recommend a Bachelor degree or the international and the European Baccalaureate.
  • English and Mathematics see below (*).

Other appropriate education found to be acceptable at the discretion of IBA

(*) English:
a: International students must hold a certificate proving adequate qualifications corresponding to Danish level B.
b: Send a signed document from your school telling the total number of hours you have had in English over the last 3 years of your education (typically 10th, 11th and 12th grade).
c: Non-EU students must take a test before admittance; IBA will arrange and place a date. This also includes students who have the IELTS certificate. For Chinese students who do not have IELTS 6.0, we recommend our foundation course in Beijing.

(*) Mathematics:
a: International students must hold a certificate proving adequate qualifications corresponding to Danish level B.
b: Send a signed document from your school telling the total number of hours you have had in Mathematics over the last 3 years of your education (Typically 10th, 11th and 12th grade).
c: Non-EU students must take a Mathematics test before admittance; IBA will arrange place and date.

The tuition fee for the AP-degree in Marketing Management are:

EU citizens and citizens of Liechtenstein, Iceland, Switzerland and Norway are automatically eligible for free tuition. This can also apply to students from other countries who have Danish residency.

Citizens from other countries who are not eligible for free tuition pay 68,000 Danish kroner (DKK) per year (total for the 2 years 136,000 DKK). The fee for the first year must be paid upon enrolment. The fee for the second year must be paid before the end of Semester 2 in the first year.

With its roots going back more than 100 years, the International Business Academy (IBA) today is a major higher education institution in the heart of Denmark offering degree programmes in business, marketing, finance, management, entrepreneurship and design.

IBA degrees cover a wide range of levels: Applied Professional (2 year Foundation), Bachelor, Masters and MBA. IBA study programmes combine a solid academic and theoretical foundation with the latest learning and teaching methods including multi-disciplinary, project/case-based, group work, blended learning practical experience. They are delivered full-time, part-time or by e-learning. IBA works closely with companies and other organisations in Denmark and throughout the world.

The International Business Academy offers a firm theoretical foundation in a dynamic combination of theoretical study with practical experience, the opportunity for the student to develop into a professional, competent, enthusiastic and internationally oriented individual and a study environment which is globally and innovative oriented.

Most IBA study programmes are taught in English and often include the opportunity for short or full semester study exchange, study visits, international events and competitions, and practical internships. 
 IBA offers degrees validated by the Danish Education Ministry and by two modern and innovative universities in the UK.
Since August 2012, IBA has become one of the new Danish Academies of Higher Education, known in Danish as EAKolding, operating on two sites and offering a wider range of study opportunities.

As part of the introduction programme which also include a buddy- and tutor programme, IBA offers exchange and international students a Danish language crash course. The purpose of the course is to learn some basic Danish language. In addition, throughout the stay at IBA exchange and international students can sign up for an e-learning based Danish language course.

In co-operation with IBA students, staff, course managers and advisers from around the world, IBA has a quality-assurance process designed to maintain and improve standards in the various components of our programme delivery including: teaching, work placements, projects, facilities and resources. Currently, there are approximately 1,100 students studying within IBA programmes.
