Master of Science in Bioinformatics
To better understand and improve life, students in the master’s degree program at the Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI learn to analyze biological data and apply the analytical skills and those analyses to pioneering research and industry challenges.
You’ll use computational tools and develop applications that bridge the gap between data and discovery—in areas such as natural water resources research and genome biology.
Students are expected to have an introductory background in computing or biology. Our faculty will help you select courses that build on your experience and elevate your skills—integrating informatics, computer science, information systems, math, biology, and related areas.
Admission requirements
- A bachelor’s degree with demonstrated technical skills
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 point scale
Successful applicants must have a strong background in computing, information technology, or biology. You should be able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required of the Informatics B.S.
