Scholarships & funding

HKBU School of Business offers a wide variety of programme-specific entrance and merit scholarships to international students to honour their outstanding achievements, in which our scholarships are designed to help us bring together talent around the world and maximise diversity. Some of the scholarships offer allowances up to full tuition waiver. Competition for scholarships increases as the year progresses, so we recommend starting your application early.

International Postgraduate Scholarships (IPS)
HKBU School of Business is dedicated to student success across the world. The International Postgraduate Scholarships (IPS) are merit awards for international students with all-round excellence admitted to designate full-time postgraduate programmes. Recipients will receive a full tuition waiver and a living allowance of HK$100,000 (approx. US$12,820). For more information, please visit our website.

Diversity Contribution Scholarship
This Scholarship is attributed to new entrants who can enhance the diversity of the programme based on criteria like their international exposure, cultural experiences, overseas education, work experience, special achievement and talents. The scholarship amount ranges from a fixed one-off amount to full tuition waiver.

Entrance Award / Admission Scholarships
The Entrance Award / Admission Scholarships offer financial support to new entrants with distinguishing qualifications as well as good interview performance.

Graduation Academic Awards / Merit-based Awards
The Graduation Academic Awards / Merit-based Awards reward students for their academic achievements in their studying programmes at the time of graduation.

Continuing Education Fund (CEF)
Core and elective courses in some programmes are included in the Continuing Education Fund (CEF) reimbursable course list issued by the HKSAR Government. Students are eligible to apply for reimbursement of the tuition fees paid, subject to the maximum sum of HK$20,000 per applicant and within one year upon successfully completion of those CEF reimbursable courses.

Non-means Tested Loan
Local students are eligible to apply for the Non-means Tested Loan Scheme provided by the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency of HKSAR.

HKBU offers Undergraduate Halls which provide a total of 1,770 residences for full-time students of the University at this point. Postgraduate students can stay at Dr. Ng Tor Tai International House and Carlson Court managed by HKBU. Non-local students can arrange accommodation on-campus via the Office of Student Affairs. Apart from the accommodations provided by the University, students may choose to rent private properties from the properties markets. The most effective way to locate suitable rental properties is to visit property agents.
