Program description

Study international business management (IBM) in Germany

The international business management program was ranked in second place for employability and for having an international profile in a recent study by the German Commission for University Development (CHE) and the German task force of human resource managers (DAPM).

The bachelor program in international business features:

  • An integrated study semester abroad
  • An internship in the industry
  • Small classes with international students

To begin the international business program, you'll spend 4 semesters on campus acquiring a solid foundation in business studies, social and intercultural competencies, and substantial foreign language skills in Chinese, Spanish, French, or German.

After completing this, you will set off for your study semester at one of the 48 international partner universities and an internship semester at a corporation or a medium-sized company in the USA, China, France, Mexico, Argentina, Australia or Germany, among others. In your last semester of the international business management program, you will complete your education with a final thesis.

The IBM degree program is taught in English, which creates a truly international study experience. International students focus first on Germany and the EU. German students choose Chinese, Spanish or French. In addition to learning the language itself, you will undertake economic structures, history and cultures, business practices, laws and social systems of the region you choose: China, French, Spanish, or the European Union. Non-native speakers of German will also take German as a foreign language with the goal of becoming fluent in two years.

The FIBAA accredited BA in international business management (IBM) program of seven semesters will give you the ability to handle management issues on a global scale.

The aim of this bachelor program in international business is to:

  • Developing a sound understanding of business issues, models and processes
  • Stimulating intellectual abilities and opening minds to new ways of thinking
  • Building management skills: communication, teamwork and negotiation skills in a multi-cultural environment
  • Integrating work experience and bringing real-world relevance to the lecture hall
