Program description

Master's Program in Applied Environmental Science

This Program focuses on research issues relating to ecology, water and health and provides the student with a foundation for occupational activities in the field of the environment, both within the academy with further studies at the doctoral level, as well as the business community.

Admission requirements

Target Audience

Anyone with a Bachelor's degree within the relevant study area (see entry requirements) who wants to raise their skills and abilities and prepare for working on solutions for the challenging environmental issues of today and thereby participating in the process of making a better future for both humans and the environment.

Admission Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology with orientation towards nature conservation, Natural Sciences with orientation towards environmental issues, or the equivalent, at an accredited university. Degrees from other countries than Sweden must be at the same level as a Swedish Bachelor’s degree. Applicants must also have written and verbal command of the English language equivalent to English course B (Swedish Upper-Secondary School).

Semester 1

  • Ecology and Water: Applications and Innovations 7.5 credits
  • Environment and Health: Risk Assessment and Management 7.5 credits
  • Scientic Methods oriented towards Natural Sciences 7.5 credits
  • Research Methods in Ecology and Environmental Science 7.5 credits

Semester 2

  • Master’s Thesis within Environmental Science 15 credits

Elective courses:

  • Environmental Challenges and Green Innovation 7.5 credits
  • Sustainable Water Resources Management 7.5 credits
  • Practical Training in Applied Environmental Science 7.5 credits
