Occupational Safety and Health
Occupational Safety and Health professionals work to prevent accidents and health hazards to workers, the community, and the environment. They are employed in every industry, including public and private companies, to eliminate work-related injuries and illness. They may also be involved with emergency preparedness and homeland security issues.
Program content
The core curriculum in this program includes courses in:
- Safety and accident prevention
- Safety management
- Workers compensation and risk management
- Incident investigation
- Industrial security
- Ergonomics
- Hazardous materials
- Industrial hygiene
- Training techniques/adult education
