Emergency Management and Business Continuity

Be ready to respond to a natural disaster, public health threat, or other emergency situations. Know what to do, how to direct others, and how to establish systems to help an organization prepare and maintain business functions. Learn what you need to know to be involved in organizational emergency planning, help prepare business continuity plans, and work in emergency management in federal, state, and local government.

The core classes in the program cover topics including: hazard analysis and mitigation, resource management, emergency planning, emergency direction and control, managing emergency information, disaster psychology, and disaster recovery.

Gain Expertise in This Critical Field Online

If emergency preparedness is part of your responsibility at an organization as a volunteer, employee, manager, or business owner, these classes will provide you with an important knowledge base. Most of the classes can be taken online.

Apply these skills to your work as a first responder, volunteer, or safety professional. Learn what you need to know to be involved in organizational emergency planning, help prepare business continuity plans, and work in emergency management in federal, state, and local government.

The classes can be beneficial to careers involving contingency planning, continuity of operations, disaster preparedness, response, recovery, loss prevention, business resumption, business operations, resiliency, program management, health care and hospital emergency management, mass casualty, crisis and critical incidents, and the National Response Framework.

Tuition fees

Tuition fee* costs for academic year 2021-2022 (September-June):

  • Three Quarters: $9,947.40
  • One Quarter: $3,315,80

*Based on 15 college/high school credits

$500 Tuition Reduction for the 21-22 Academic Year!

Starting Spring 2021, each new student taking 12 or more High School or College credits will receive a $500 tuition reduction for a maximum of 2 quarters for the 21-22 Academic Year (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring). This amounts to a tuition savings of $1,000 to students!

$50 Application Fee Waived until June 30, 2022!

We are excited to announce that as an additional support to new students, our application fees will be temporary waived. Effective immediately, our application fee of $50 will be waived for all new applications until June 30, 2022.

Placement test fee is waived as well.

Associate in Applied Science - Transfer

  • Emergency Management - Emergency Management and Business Continuity Associate in Applied Science-T Degree

Certificate

  • Emergency Management - Emergency Management Certificate

Earn a two-year Associate of Applied Science-T (transfer) Degree in Emergency Management and Business Continuity or complete an Emergency Management and Business Continuity certificate in as few as six quarters (18 months). The program provides education and training for those currently in the field, those who are responsible for business continuity, and volunteers who assist during emergency situations. Edmonds College’s Emergency Management program is recognized by FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute.
