MA in Business Translation and Intercultural Communication in English and Spanish

This innovative course will give you the opportunity to study in two vibrant universities, the University if East Anglia (United Kingdom) and the University of Deusto (Spain), in two different countries and in two different languages: English and Spanish. You will learn about intercultural communication from the seminars and from your own experience. You will practice different types of translation for professional purposes: written translation, interpreting, audiovisual translation, etc. Apart from that, you will learn how to use Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for translation and linguistic purposes and you will also develop professional experience as a translator or as a linguistic and cultural expert during your work placement. 

This course is offered in both English and Spanish.

During the first (autumn) semester, you will study at University of East Anglia (United Kingdom).

During the second semester (spring), you will study at the University of Deusto (Spain).

Admission requirements

Registration will take place at the University of East Anglia. All applicants must provide proof of English and Spanish proficiency (C1 is required). Educational background, expected academic potential, motivation, and work experience related to the field are assessment criteria.

Career opportunities

This degree trains professional experts in translation and intercultural communication in Spanish and English languages in international contexts for the 21st century. Graduates reach an updated and comprehensive training in the translation of these two languages oriented towards various professional profiles in international contexts.

At the end of the master's degree, students will reach the language skills and abilities described in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, with general proficiency levels equivalent to C2 (CEFR) in commercial language for both languages (English and Spanish).

In addition, graduates will get an advanced level in the use of ICT in the linguistic and communicative field focused on the applicability of language studies in fields such as translation in the area of business, management of languages in business, intercultural communication and mediation in international contexts.

Graduates carry out work placements of the Master in relevant companies and institutions will obtain different and complementary perspectives, deepen the international dimension of the Master, expand their personal and academic curriculum in environments of any of the areas of specialization of the Master's
