International Relations and Business Diplomacy

The traditional relationship between governments, multinational companies and non-governmental organizations and interest groups has changed. Doing international business in a globalised economy today is now a matter of understanding and being able to navigate successfully in the complex political nature of international relations.

Companies need new capabilities and business diplomacy is a value lever that allows to build and maintain key relationships to obtain long-term, sustainable business results with a positive impact on their outturn.

Graduates who plan to develop their career in business internationalization through innovative training in a multicultural academic environment. 

Professionals working in business fields and public institutions for international business promotion, who need to underpin their professional profile with advanced training in new strategies and tools that take into account the latest advances and experiences.

Entry requirements 

Academic background

  • Official Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
  • Professional experience in the business internationalization field or academic training that demonstrates basic knowledge of the area. 

English level

  • Provide proof of having a C1 English level

If candidates only have a B2 English level when applying for admission to the Master’s, they can be provisionally admitted provided that they have reached an advanced English level upon enrolment in September. This requires the commitment of candidates’ who have been provisionally admitted to improving their English level during the period between application for admission and enrolment.

Program content

Students will focus on acquiring the theoretical and practical skills and competences to understand how international relations work and to promote business abroad using diplomatic channels and processes, both in public institutions and in the private sector.

This programme provides professionals with the skills to include diplomacy as a key management tool. Experts will play a key role in understanding the new role of businesses, closing the gap between commercial activities and the management of socio-political issues.

First Semester

  • Risk analysis and methodology

  • International Law and arbitration
  • Project Management & Tender
  • Internship in Business Diplomacy.
  • Master Thesis.
