MSc Biomedical Research at the CSMM
The masters in biomedical research program promotes excellence and educates students on the significant issues in biomedical research. The challenging curriculum includes mandatory taught courses which cover the main aspects of research and a number of elective courses enabling students to broaden their knowledge of other relevant fields.
The MSc research projects are conducted in the state-of-the-art departments and clinics of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (CING). As an international center of excellence, CING carries out pioneering research in biomedicine. MSc students will be provided with the knowledge and tools to complete a competitive research project.
MSc Students have the opportunity to attend courses in innovative fields which include:
- Brain and behavior
- Cellular and molecular neuroscience
- Neurosciences and neurogenetics
- Cytogenetics and genomics
- Molecular genetics
- Molecular basis of monogenic diseases
- Molecular virology and immunology
- Molecular basis of complex diseases
The Cyprus School of Molecular Medicine offers accredited MSc postgraduate programs. The programs are offered in full-time (1-year) and part-time (2-years) paces. Each postgraduate program consists of mandatory and elective courses. The biomedical research program also includes a research project.
Minimum Entry Requirements
To be admitted to the MSc Programs, a student must meet at least the minimum requirements listed below:
- A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized accredited institution, in a related field
- English Language Certification or other accepted International Standard, if graduated from a school where English is not the language of instruction

- A Completed Online Application Form (separate applications are to be submitted if applying for more than one program. This incurs additional 40 euros fee per application)

- High School Leaving certificate
- English Language Certificate (if previous degree was obtained in a language other than English)

The program promotes academic excellence and educates students on research in Biomedical Science. This two-year Program mostly aims to train students in biomedical research while doing a laboratory-based project. The challenging curricula includes taught courses aiming to cover the main aspects of biomedical research and to enable the students to broaden their knowledge on other fields in the discipline.
The students of this Program have the opportunity to carry out their research projects in the state-of-the-art Departments and Clinics of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics and work side by side with the highly experienced scientists and clinicians of the Institute. The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics implements pioneering research work and internationally renowned work in biomedical research and, therefore, provides an environment that inspires MSc students to pursue and complete innovative research projects.
Tuition Fees: 10,550 euros.
Scholarships & funding
A number of full scholarships based on academic criteria are awarded to CSMM students. The exact amount and number of scholarships that will be offered is always subject to the yearly budget of the School.

Masters Degree (MSc).
On successful completion of the program, graduates will be prepared for the continuation of postgraduate studies (PhD) in Cyprus and abroad.
Graduates will also be appropriately skilled for positions in organizations with similar activities as those of the CING.
