MSc Neuroscience at the CING
The program in neuroscience promotes excellence and educates students on the significant issues in neuroscience. The challenging curriculum includes mandatory taught courses which cover the main aspects of neuroscience and a number of elective courses enabling students to broaden their knowledge of other relevant fields.
The research projects for the neuroscience program are conducted in the state-of-the-art departments and clinics of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (CING). As an international center of excellence, CING carries out research in neuroscience.
MSc students will be provided with the knowledge and tools to complete a competitive research project. MSc students will have the opportunity to attend courses in innovative fields which include:
- Brain and behavior
- Cellular and molecular neuroscience
- Neurosciences and neurogenetics
- Cytogenetics and genomics
- Molecular genetics
- Molecular basis of monogenic diseases
- Molecular virology
- Immunology
- Molecular basis of complex diseases.
Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics offers accredited MSc postgraduate programs. The programs are offered in full-time (one year) and part-time (two years) modes of study. Each postgraduate program consists of mandatory and elective courses and a research or library project.
Admission requirements
Applicants must have a BSc / Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
For Neuroscience Program:
Graduates of medical school, biology and related sciences, genetics, neuroscience, biomedical sciences, psychology, pharmacology, physiology, education, special education, speech therapy

As a student on this program, you will be educated in and exposed to the significant issues in Neuroscience. The challenging curricula includes mandatory taught courses which cover the main aspects of Neuroscience and a number of elective courses enabling you to broaden your knowledge of other relevant and complementary fields.
The MSc Research or Library Projects based on various aspects of Neuroscience, are conducted in the state-of-the-art Departments and Clinics of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics. As an International Centre of Excellence, the CING carries out pioneering research in Neuroscience and therefore provides you with the knowledge and tools to complete a comprehensive and competitive Research or Library Project.
Scholarships & funding
CSMM Scholarships
The School offers scholarships to MSc students subject to availability. These include full and partial scholarships to cover tuition fees and are based on academic criteria.
The exact amount and number of scholarships offered is always subject to the yearly budget of the School.
Tuition
Tuition fees: 8,000 euros.
Qualification
Master of Science (MSc) degree.
Continuing studies
On successful completion of the programs, graduates will be prepared for employment in academia as well as in the sectors of biotechnology, clinical medicine, pharmacology, genetics, biomedical research. Further education and research opportunities are also options, as well as post-doc positions.

Degree Programs
The CING currently offers the following MSc and PhD postgraduate accredited programmes (by all official bodies of the Republic of Cyprus), with the use of European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) values. All programmes, are taught in English:
- MSc / PhD Molecular Medicine
- MSc / PhD Medical Genetics
- MSc / PhD Neuroscience
- MSc Biomedical Research
The MSc programmes combine taught courses with a Research or Library project and have a duration of 13 months in full-time mode and 24 months in part-time mode. The MSc Biomedical Research programme has a duration of two years in full-time mode and three years in part-time mode.
The PhD programmes combine taught courses during year 1 of studies with a research project throughout and have a duration of 4 to 6 years in full-time mode and 6 to 8 years in part-time mode.

CING graduates are fully prepared for employment through their daily interaction in a professional work environment, which offers research and services alongside education as well as through professional seminars focusing on essential skills that are provided to them during their studies.
Furthermore, each academic course has been developed based upon both learning objectives and employment objectives. This ensures that the CING delivers fully equipped graduates to the job market, an objective which has been proven through the high employment rates of its graduates.
