Bachelor of Music
The Bachelor of Music is designed to provide specialist training in Jazz and Popular Music or Performance. Benefit from hands-on experience that is combined with academic study in the interpretation and understanding of music. This challenging and exciting course will expose you to a variety of learning experiences and you will benefit from the professional experience you will gain by performing in various university, community and professional settings.
During your studies, you will be involved in a conservatoire-style environment that offers intensive individual training with professional musicians.
You will benefit from hands-on experience combined with academic study in the interpretation and understanding of music. On completion of the course, you will have the knowledge and practical skills to be successful in your chosen career.
AQF Level: Level 7 Bachelor Degree
To gain entry into this course you will be required to audition.
- IELTS Academic: 6.0 with no individual band score of less than 5.5
- TOEFL Internet-based: Overall score of 75 with no score less than 17
- Pearson Test of English Academic: Overall score of 54 with no score less than 46
Year 12 studies in music or the equivalent private music study in your chosen instrument or voice.

CC41 - Diploma of Music
Completion of the Bachelor of Music will prepare you to pursue employment opportunities in roles such as a:
- professional musician
- recording or sound engineer
- performing or recording artist
- private music educator
- educator at Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels (once suitable postgraduate qualifications in education have been obtained).
