After only 2 years of studies, you will be skilled within the field of service design and you will know how to stage memorable experiences within the leisure industries. Upon graduation, you can create, plan, coordinate and deliver professional services in an existing company or in a startup company.
Throughout your studies, you will practice hands-on how to find solutions to challenges that real companies face. You will be working on cases and solving real-life problems by applying the academic theory you have just learned.
As a part of the programme, you will complete an internship in a company where you will be working full-time for 12 weeks. This way of learning ensures that you are well-equipped to handle your future job.
The programme is taught in English and commences twice a year:
- At the end of August (application deadline for all international applicants:15 March)
- At the end of January (application deadline: 15 November for EU citizens and 29 September for non-EU citizens)
The programme is offered at Cphbusiness Nørrebro campus.
Admission requirements
You can apply with an upper secondary school diploma or a vocational diploma.
Upper Secondary School Diploma
- Denmark and Scandinavian countries: Upper secondary school diploma.
- The US and countries with similar educational systems: A high school graduation diploma.
- The UK and countries with similar educational systems: GCE Advanced Level-exam (at least three A-levels) in combination with GCSE-exams or in combination with GCE/AS-level exams or a BTEC National Certificate or Diploma.
- African countries, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, and countries with similar education systems: An upper secondary school diploma.
- Others: The International or the European Baccalaureate (from Schola Europaea).
Applicants with an upper secondary school diploma must have the required competencies in English (see below) and qualifications in business economics or mathematics that are equivalent to a Danish level C. This means that the applicant must submit official documentation for having completed and passed at least 75 hours of business economics or 125 hours of mathematics at upper secondary school.
Vocational Diploma
- Certain Danish vocational diplomas and vocational diplomas from abroad that Cphbusiness considers equivalent.
Applicants with a vocational diploma must have the required competencies in English (see below) and – depending on the vocational diploma concerned – are required to have qualifications in business economics or mathematics that are equivalent to a Danish level C. Applicants must submit official documentation for having completed and passed at least 75 hours of business economics or 125 hours of mathematics.
English Requirements
All applicants must submit documentation to prove their competences in English.
One of the following English tests is required:
- TOEFL internet-based test; minimum score required 83.
- IELTS academic test; minimum score required 6,5.
- Cambridge English Advanced; minimum score required grade C.
- Cambridge English Proficiency; minimum score required grade C1.
- Cambridge First Certificate; minimum score required grade A
- Danish level A or B in English with a weighted average grade of minimum 02 (no rounding up); in 2020 the weighted average grade for English level B must be at least 3,0 (no rounding up).
Test results should be recent.
Exemption From English Requirements
Applicants with a qualifying exam or a bachelor’s degree from the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa are exempt from submitting documentation to prove their competences in English.
Applicants with a Scandinavian upper secondary school diploma, an International Baccalaureate or a European Baccalaureate (from Schola Europaea) are exempt from submitting English test results if their upper secondary school diploma includes qualifications that are considered equivalent to a Danish level B in English.

The programme has a duration of 2 years and is based on modules containing several themes. A practice-oriented focus and group work is a natural part of the programme. Furthermore, you have the opportunity to choose between several electives which are selected based on trends and demands from the industry. The electives will be published at the beginning of the programme.
Everything you do in this programme will qualify you to work within the service and leisure industry.
During the 1st and 2nd semester, you will work with the themes:
- Service and Experiences
- Business Understanding
- Relations and Cooperation.
In your 3rd semester, you will complete a 3-months internship in a service company followed by an exam. The internship can form the basis of your final examination project. The last part of the 3rd semester will focus on the theme of Business Development, which continues during the 4th semester. Finally, you write the final examination project in collaboration with a fellow student.
THE structure
- 1st year: Service and Experiences, Business Understanding, Cooperation and Relations.
- 2nd year: Business Development and internship.

Scholarships are not provided by the institution.
EU-students:

Students from outside the EU or the Nordic countries are not able to apply for Government funding (unless they hold a permanent residence permit for Denmark or a residence permit in anticipation of permanent stay in Denmark)
Tuition fees
0 EUR = Free of charge for students who hold a passport from:
- EU-countries
- Nordic countries
- Iceland
- Switzerland
- Lichtenstein
The full tuition fee for International/Non-EU students is 4350 EUR per semester.
Qualification
The AP degree programme lasts 2 years. You will be awarded 120 ECTS points when you have finished the programme. An AP degree enables you to start your working life right away or continue studying for a Bachelor’s degree.
Recognition
All programmes offered by Cphbusiness are recognised by the Danish State and can be used as accreditation for further academic studies. The European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) ensures easy recognition with other European educational institutions.
ISCED levels
According to the ISCED (International Standard Classification of Education) scheme, the AP programmes offered at Cphbusiness have the following level:
