5 Days of Fashion Journalism
Are you curious about what goes on behind the scenes of a Condé Nast Publications magazine? This intensive five-day course is suitable for anyone interested in a career in fashion and lifestyle journalism, who is keen to find out more about the discipline and develop and refine their writing skills.
During the course you will research and come up with ideas for articles and also explore online options that will allow you to add to your portfolio.
There will be talks from Condé Nast staff and other fashion media experts on a range of subjects such as understanding your audience, generating features ideas, trend reporting, writing fashion news, and the art of interviewing.
The course will also look at the work of experienced writers and editors, and explore the language of fashion. You will discover how magazines operate, how revenue is generated from media content, and the key characteristics of print and digital formats.
Admission requirements
There are no formal entry requirements
Students must be aged at least 18 years old on 31st August at the start of the academic year in which they intend to join this course. An academic year runs 1st September-31st August annually. For the duration of the academic year, a student is considered to be their academic age for admissions purposes, regardless of when their birthday falls within that academic year..
English Language Requirements
There are no formal English language requirements for this course. However, if you are a non-UK student and English is not your first language, we recommend you have an Academic IELTS score of 5.5 or be able to use English at this level before commencing your studies. It is your responsibility to ensure you will be able to participate fully in a qualification delivered and assessed in English.
The application deadlines is one week before the course start date, however, places are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.
