Master of Medical Laboratory Science
The Master in Laboratory Medicine is a new professionally accredited course that will provide you with the necessary knowledge, skills and workplace experience to work in diagnostic pathology and assist with diagnosis and treatment of disease. This course will provide you with the support and access to a broad and coherent body of knowledge in a range of contexts, at the masters-level. You will gain knowledge and skills in the areas of haematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry and anatomical pathology.
Graduates may work in areas such as diagnostic pathology, research, forensics science as well as health management, public health departments, educational institutes and the pharmaceutical industry.

- Successful completion of a recognised bachelor degree in biomedical or medical health disciplines.

The Master in Laboratory Medicine comprises of core units and an elective. Core units include diagnostic haematology, pathology, clinical chemistry, bacteriology, mycology, virology and parasitology and transfusion. You will undertake two professional placements in diagnostic, forensic and world leading research laboratories within Darwin.

Qualification
Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive Master of Medical Laboratory Science.
Graduates are eligible for membership of the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS).
