The three-year (six-semester) B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (International), Specialization in Automotive Engineering program offers students a well-balanced theory-and practical-based curriculum. The Bachelor of Science program comprises lectures, tutorials and lab courses, with lecturers and tutors coming from different institutes in KIT. This ensures that the quality of the subjects taught will be of the highest standard.

Students choosing the specialization in Automotive Engineering profit from the fact that the automotive industry is Germany’s largest industry sector with a turnover of approximately 263 billion Euros, covering 20% of the overall turnover of Germany's industry. Five million people are employed by the automotive industry and their suppliers. Ten out of the 100 largest automotive suppliers have either their headquarters or one of their subsidiaries in nearby Karlsruhe.

Besides the academic demands, B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (International), Specialization in Automotive Engineering, students are also expected to complete at least 12 weeks of internship, with at least 6 weeks for their basic industrial internship and at least 6 weeks for their advanced internship. Admission requirements

Applicants need to meet the following criteria:

  • High School Degree (e.g. IB, GCE A-level, US High School Diploma, German Abitur or others!)

  • Excellent Grades in Mathematics & Physics: Physics and Mathematics must be present on the last two years of the High School Transcript of Records. Should this not be the case, applicants may upload SAT II Subject test scores or a comparable equivalent in the missing subject to fulfill this requirement. 

  • English Language Proficiency: Applicants are required to include proof of English language proficiency in the form of TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, CPE or UNIcert should English not be their native language. If English has been the language of instruction of your higher education, you may submit our Declaration of English Proficiency form to be waived from English language testing obligations.

  • SAT: Math & Evidence-Based Reading and Writing at least 1200 points.

  • Motivation Letter

Tuition

College fee for the Bachelor Program in Mechanical Engineering (International) is 7.000 € per semester. Further information on request.
