Program description

Hotel Management

In the bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, students learn how to run hotels in an economically professional manner and how to meet guest needs when designing offers. The range of tasks of hotels and restaurants is large: Hotel managers must be able to design the processes in their company effectively and with high quality. They have to run the hotel profitably, motivate their employees and offer experiences for the guests. For these challenges, experts are needed who react professionally to the different needs and requirements and who can implement this within the hospitality company.

The hotel management degree enables graduates to pursue a career in tourism in a variety of ways: for example, with the aim of working as F&B managers, in marketing or in hotel project management. They always keep an eye on the needs of the guests and at the same time keep an eye on the business requirements of the hotel.

Career opportunities

Due to the interdisciplinary training in the Bachelor's degree in Economics, graduates of the individual branches of study have very good career opportunities in the respective industries.

In addition to the technical know-how, the graduates have extensive key qualifications and competencies. Above all, self-management, organizational, social and leadership skills, as well as language and communication skills, are to be emphasized. The foreign languages offered in the study area include Italian, Slovenian, French and Russian. Students who take advantage of this foreign language offer can significantly sharpen their career profile.

The internship is a particularly important part of the curriculum to prepare students for entering professional life. Practical units enable the direct implementation and deepening of the specialist knowledge already acquired in practice, so that the knowledge can also be further developed "on the job". In addition, important initial contacts are made with potential employers. It is not uncommon for the internship to result in a specific job offer.
