Operational Research (Research)
Operational Research is a research area within which you can focus your studies as part of our suite of Mathematics research programs (MPhil, PhD).
The School is part of the EPSRC Science and Innovation funded LANCS Initiative in the Mathematical Underpinnings of Operational Research.
The following specialisations are available within this research area:
- Modelling of traffic flow
- Healthcare modelling
- Modelling of the spread of infectious diseases
- Queueing theory
- Scheduling and timetabling problems
- Metaheuristics
- Discrete optimisation.
The modules shown are an example of the typical curriculum and will be reviewed prior to the academic year. The final modules will be published by September.
