Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome (UCBM)

UCBM is a private University situated in Rome. We currently offer a 6-year MD Programme in Medicine and Surgery. Our students do their clinical internship at our University Hospital, which is JCI-accredited. The Joint Commission International is an international body which certifies standards of excellence, especially with regard to patients' safety. Within the University Hospital, there is also a brand-new Emergency Unit.

UCBM includes 2 buildings: Trapezio and PRABB. The first one is the backbone of Campus Life, where most lectures are given, as well as where the library is. The PRABB is the building dedicated to scientific research, a space of over 3,000 square meters devoted to research.

Upon completion of their studies, students obtain 360 ECTS; the master's degree is valid in Italy and all over Europe. When studying at UCBM, students have a chance to undertake The United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), which allows students to practice Medicine in the U.S. The MD Programme uses PBL (problem-based learning) and EBM (evidence-based medicine). Our faculty members come from the UK and the U.S.

The small number of students (on average 60 Europeans and 30 non-Europeans) favours a tailor-made study experience. Each student can count on tutoring services: a personal tutor, a didactic one and a clinical one. You will find a team of professionals working together toward one common goal: conveying knowledge. You will find patient-centred teaching with a community-based learning approach. Do not forget our mission: "Science for Mankind".

In order to study in Italy, international students need to have at least 12 years of schooling. Should the academic system in their country of origin have 11, students can attend our Foundation Year (FY) and receive the necessary credits to study in Italy.
